More news from Scotland … the first semi-final of the Scottish National Exhibition Tournament took place at Saughton Park, Edinburgh. Rangers, fielding a near full-strength line-up, took on St Bernard’s who had a weakened squad which included three junior players on trial. A crowd of 8,000 witnessed a close-fought match which was decided when Rangers’ inside left Livingston netted in the closing stages: Rangers 1, St Bernard’s 0.
